Shopping money

How much money we need to earn depends on certain factors. One being how much money we waste. If we didn’t waste so much on perceived essential consumables we wouldn’t need as much money to ’survive’ on. The more you get the more you want rings true through out our working lives. Many on high incomes are in the same financial trouble as someone earning half the income.  We have a false need for newer, bigger, better, so we can give our ego a sense of importance. Don’t take this the wrong way, we do need new reliable things to function in this world sometimes, but the way consumerism is entrenched, we certainly don’t need as much as we buy.
Take notice of how you feel when you buy a new product. It can be quiet thrilling if you really like what you bought. But the feeling will soon subside and the superseded model inevitably comes out . This in turn will make you want the new improved version . Nothing over time will satisfy you from this physical world of want, it always fades to another want. If you can, imagine consumerism as thirst that never gets quenched. It seems as though your satisfied after a drink at first but soon the thirst returns,  a never ending cycle is created. The satisfaction can never come from shopping and buying new products. If it did you would only go a few times buying everything you needed then stop and be happy forever.
Take a step back and look at what and why you are buying. If you are focused, in the moment, you can separate want from need and act on the need as the primary and the want as secondary. When shopping look and admire the clothes, cars, jewellery or what ever it is you want however leave the credit card at home. Try it on or take it for a test drive if you must, try to quench the thirst without buying. You can change the way money influences your life.
The only way to be satisfied is to be comfortable with who you are. Not what other people perceive you as, a name,  personality, skin colour, gender, height , weight etc… but what you feel deep down, your inner self. All the money in the world couldn’t buy the deep peace and contentment within yourself, the total completeness, the need for no more or less, the stillness, yet it doesn’t cost you anything to acquire it. Next time when you are about to buy a new item, refrain, go against the tide of compulsiveness and refrain from spending anything. Interestingly enough you may feel better than you expected and it may just be the start of wanting less, wasting less, for a better more peaceful existence…

Oil crisis

How many people out there are stressing because of the world oil ‘crisis’?  Every time you drive past the fuel station the price seems a little higher than the previous week. It leads to frustration, annoyance, anger toward fuel stations , the governments, the oil companies, in fact, anybody who is anybody that deals with oil is fair game. The primary concern with the fuel, from the average consumers point of view,  is how much money is needed to fill up the car, truck, boat in daily life and what’s left over to feed the family. To put it in perspective the vast majority can be still comfortable with these rises in the monetary sense. A change of priorities is all that is needed for most. It is not the end of the world I can guarantee but the oil price is rising the ego in people and is seen as a kind of personal attack on the person buying the fuel by the unconscious human mind.  This increases stress enormously for some but when viewed from a calm perspective, it’s close to an insane reaction .

So lets not take this personally because it isn’t and lets not get angry because there is nothing to get angry about. Why get angry about something that you in this present moment, this very moment in time, literally this moment have no control over. The Lesson -Don’t get angry over anything in life that you have no control over and can’t change in this very moment. If you can’t change something in this very moment, you have no need to put any emotion into the thoughts, therefore no anger. If you do,  the energy that the thoughts you have against the price rise only lead to more unnecessary stress in your life that is totally unhealthy and unproductive. The problem is the emotion you have against the rise in costs wants the stress,  it needs the stress to survive, so you will have to be the watcher of your thoughts or the cycle won’t be broken. Remember it isn’t a personal attack every time the price hikes up it’s totally manageable if you accept it and give it no thought. It’s a part of life. Life goes on . Life is to be, not fought.

The planet Earths well being is definately dependant on everybody stopping the use of oil.
The countless number of people that have and will become sick from pollution that’s a detriment of fuel use. Wars are fought over oil, millions have been affected. Fuel has changed our lives in more ways than one.
The human race is looking at viable alternative fuels. With this crisis it is the time for people to give these fuels attention. The world needs to accept and change for the sake of the human race as a whole and this time right here and now could be the defining moment we need to wake up. Water, a totally recyclable source as well as solar power are perfect. Just think of a world where pollution is a word of the past. Only the ticking of clocks and the collective change of minds will tell. Use these thoughts for a different outlook.

Accept it and be free from insane thoughts and enjoy life. Try it and find how easy it truly is.

From http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,23636,23906604-31037,00.html

“SAUDI Arabia’s King Abdullah has condemned oil speculators at a summit on the spiralling price of crude which called for greater transparency in market dealings.

He blamed increased oil consumption and taxes on fuel, but said: “Among other factors behind this unjust increase in oil prices is the abhorrent act of speculators acting for their own selfish interests”.

The US and other Western powers blamed production shortfalls while Saudi Arabia and other Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) members said speculators had played a key role.

Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Nuaimi said the world had enough crude to last “many decades” and Riyadh would invest $US129bn to be able to produce 15 million BPD.

Mr Nuaimi said Saudi Arabia’s production capacity would rise to 12.5 million BPD by the end of 2009 and another 2.5 million BPD could be added if demand warranted.

Money

If you have money a big house, a nice car, a boat, shares etc… then you will be happy for the rest of your life worry free! Do you believe me?Of course money isn’t the absolute key to happiness so why do many still think this is the case? Every day, in the media especially, we see wealth as being this great fulfilment. People judge people on how much money they have. People judge people on what job they do. When asked what they do for a job/living a doctor will get a completely different reaction to a sewage worker even though both jobs are necessary. So now if you have more money or are in a profession that is percieved higher ranked you are classed above someone just because of your thoughts? Surely there must be more to it? Well the answer is  sorry to say, no.

This way the world sees this ranking through thoughts won’t change until the world starts to change by  being thrown a different perspective. A new way of though needs to be manifested.
“The more you get the more you want,” a saying that is so true and I have seen it first hand many times. I have known people to take a redundancy package because of overtime drying up on the job as they had committed too much money on investments. The wage although good wasn’t enough without the overtime. Why would they do this? Is it in our conditioning ? The way the advertising companies make us believe that having the latest and best gizmo ,even if we have or have not saved the money, needs to be in your possession and then told you will be content.
I remember watching on A Current Affair a person complaining about the fees from his bank had gone up so much in a year he would have to sell up. This guy was furious and was blaming everyone from the bank to the government. It was only at the end of the interview he stated that, it was ‘one’ of his ‘investment’ properties! This shows how delusional people can get when it comes to wealth and happiness, he most definitely wasn’t happy.
How many times did you really want something at the shop and nothing was going to stop you from getting it? Then when you get it and it seems like a let down and in time you start to look for the next must have thing? “Be happy with what you have ” is easy to say and easy to do if you really want it to work. We need a different perspective on what is important in life . So can you be at peace with not much money and a job that stinks(to other people)? The answer of course is a resounding YES!
A person I used to work with had lived in his house for over 20 years and when it came for him to take the redundancy, due to downsizing of the company, I learned he was only paying rent on his house . He could have paid the house off five times over and had a great asset (as well as a redundancy) but he was happy at the time with the way his life was. He then left and bought a caravan and four wheel drive and headed north for life on the road. Last time I spoke to him he was up a dirt track camped by a river catching fish absolutely loving life. He said in the conversation I had with him that his hand was shaking when he signed to leave, he really wasn’t sure it was the right thing to do at the time (you did have a choice) but now looking back it was the best decision he had ever made in his life. Other people at work still can’t understand why he isn’t in another job slaving away .He still has 15 years till retirement if you go by the government but he is happy to retire now and that is all that counts.
If you make the decision and turns out wrong to everybody but not you then it is the right decision especially when it comes to the paper they call money.
You need money to live but to live for money is completely different.
