De-cluttering
Getting rid of extra baggage, De cluttering, life can be an uplifting experience whether emotional or material. Today I will write about the material side because my wife and myself did exactly that with our clothing and footwear. You could say the material side is uncluttered now but the lift you get after doing this definitely is emotional . To have clutter in your life really means you have too much idol stuff accumulated and for us today our clothing was the target.
You can adopt the approach of if you haven’t worn something in 1 year you don’t need it so get rid of it. We used this but also used the 80/20 rule . For those who don’t know this rule it was brought to our attention reading about an Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto who basically said that 80% of Italy’s income went to 20% of the population. Another example of this would be 80% of your income comes from 20% of your sales in a business. It doesn’t have to be 80/20 it could be 90/10 or 85/15. Looking at this rule people have adapted it to other situations and we were no exception . We now have a lot less clutter in the wardrobe around 80% of the clothes we had this morning are gone and we have no regrets what so ever . The used clothes went to a charity which has a clothes bin at the local shopping centre and the clothes still with tags on them, yes still tags, we’ll purge them on ebay for an extra dollar or two.
Decluttering is great for the house and more importantly it lifts the spirit .
